27th Annual Swap Meet

In 1993 the Brainbusters and Tidewater Model Soaring Society started the Swap Meet and it has continued ever since.  Newport News Park Radio Control Club, Inc proudly presents the 27th Annual Swap Meet.

Location:
  Immanuel Baptist Church
  69 Saunders Rd
  Newport News, VA
  Same location as last year.

 



Time:
  Doors open for setup at 8:00 am. 
  Open to the public at 9:00 am (no selling before 9:00 am).
  Event duration: 9:00 am to 12:30 pm; door prizes will be drawn throughout the event.
  Raffle drawing at 12:30 pm for (TBD). You do not have to be present to win.

Cost:
  General Admission: $5.00, ladies and children 10 and under are free.
  Plenty of food - come hungry! 
  All food and drink provided by the Church Youth Group.

Sellers:
  All tables are $12.00 each and the renter of the table/tables gets free admission. 
 Don't delay - reserve tables early; 2019 was a complete sell-out!

National Model Aviation Day Fun Fly & AMA Foundation Challenge

The Newport News Park Radio Control Club will host an event in celebration of National Model Aviation Day on October 12, 2019, supporting the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) mission to promote development of model aviation as a recognized sport and worthwhile recreation activity. The AMA serves as the official national body for model aviation in the United States.

The public is invited to celebrate National Model Aviation Day with the members of the Newport News Park Radio Control Club at the NNPRCC Flying Field. During this event, NNPRCC members will be raffling off prizes to raise funds for the AMA Foundation.

  • This event is FREE and OPEN for everyone!

  • Aerobatic flight demonstrations! (fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter)

  • Plenty of food - come hungry! (donations requested)

  • Watch pilots fly radio-controlled aircraft, learn about flying radio control and even fly one yourself! For a $1 donation, you can:

    • Experience flight using a ‘buddy box’ with an expert pilot

    • Try flying virtually using a flight simulator

Note: This is an AMA-sanctioned event. Open flying (no turbines). No landing fees.

AMA Foundation Challenge Kick-Off Cookout and Fun Fly

This Saturday is the kick-off for NNPRCC’s AMA Foundation fund raising challenge!

We’re selling tickets for GREAT raffle prizes, one of them being a 15cc size Hellcat from Horizon Hobby. The raffle drawing will take place in October. You DO NOT have to be present to win.

We’ll have lots of DELICIOUS food available! Generous donations will be greatly appreciated.

Blaine and the NNPRCC AMA Foundation Challenge Committee are working hard to make this a great time. Please come out and show your support!
